My (older) baby graduated from eighth grade last night. For a time, I wasn’t sure that it would actually happen. But it did, and I’m so proud of the dude! He looked ever so handsome in his suit and tie (and with the long, straggly hair).
The ceremony itself was typical; speeches that don’t really mean anything, awards given to the nerds “privileged” few, etcetera, etcetera. We hooted and hollered for the dude when they called his name and he got his diploma. Embarrassed him, I’m sure. At least I hope so!
Now, on to High School. Yikes!
He did look very handsome, and I, too, am very proud of him. And I’m grateful to you, as I’m sure his dad is, that you’ve seen him through the past 9 years of schooling – with lots of ups and downs.
High school – let’s wait a couple of months and see how we feel then! HA! Seriously though, I think he’ll be just fine. He’s a good kid…a really good kid. You’ve done well, Mom.
